The pharmaceutical location Germany benefits from the approval of Covid drugs, because some corona drugs are also produced at German locations.

Novel drugs are also intended to alleviate the course of Covid-19 and help relieve hospitals.

The corona drug Paxlovid* manufactured by Pfizer should make it possible, for example, to prevent severe disease progression in high-risk patients with mild symptoms.

In December, Pfizer received US emergency use authorization for the corona drug.

Some medicines against Corona* have been developed primarily in the USA*, Great Britain or Switzerland.

However, they are also produced at German locations and distributed from there.

Pfizer's corona drug is produced in Germany

The drug Paxlovid from the manufacturer Pfizer is mainly manufactured in Freiburg.

1700 people work for the company at this location.

While the drug has emergency use approval in the US and conditional approval in the UK, it is still being reviewed in the EU.

The federal government in Germany has already ordered a million packs of the corona drug Paxlovid*.

Health Minister Karl Lauterbach* (SPD*) expects the first deliveries this month.

However, according to the Minister of Health, the anti-Covid pill is not a miracle cure and, above all, not a substitute for vaccination.

Corona: Medicines in the fight against Covid-19 are produced in Germany

The drug Roactemra from the Swiss group Roche is sterilely filled and packaged in Mannheim, among other places.

In the case of corona diseases, it is administered against an excessive endogenous immune system in the case of severely advanced diseases.

Furthermore, the manufacturer Roche offers the preparation Ronapreve with the antibodies Casirvimab and Imedvimab.

This is administered, for example, in the early stages of corona diseases, since antibodies can still be used at this point.

These drugs are made in the USA.

However, the quality assurance and release of the batches for Europe is located in Grenzach in southern Baden.
