Damascus-SANA
The director of the hardworking Damascus Hospital General Authority, Dr. Ahmed Abbas, confirmed that there is no evidence to prove the presence of the Omicron mutant in Syria, because the necessary tests are not available to detect it so far, pointing out that the mutant is characterized by wide spread and mild symptoms.
Abbas revealed in a statement to SANA that the number of intensive care beds in the hospital was reduced for the benefit of operating patients to become only 8 beds designated for Corona patients, and the isolation departments were reduced from 3 divisions to two divisions with a capacity of 28 beds, as a result of the decrease in the number of cases referred to the hospital with symptoms similar to the symptoms of infection virus.
Abbas indicated that the number of visitors to the isolation ambulance department is about 15 cases per day, of which 3 to 5 cases are accepted, indicating that the occupancy rate in the intensive care department is 5 beds, and in the isolation departments is 9 families. Note any significant change in symptoms and they are still limited to respiratory and digestive symptoms, and the death rate is within normal limits.
