The prices for used cars are exploding - and many other things are also becoming expensive.

That's why the Dortmund tuner JP Kraemer now wants to react.

Dortmund – In private, things went really well for the Dortmund tuner Jean Pierre “JP” Kraemer (41) in 2021: He seems to be quite happy with his girlfriend Mili, who was recently presented on YouTube. As far as his corporate empire is concerned, however, things were not going quite well. From an economic point of view, it was not a good year, the tuner explains in a YouTube video (to be found below): "We spent a lot of money and didn't get anything back." Financial resources were "unpleasantly parked". He may be referring to his PACE Museum, for example, which has actually been finished for more than a year – but will probably not open until April of this year. Such a situation is difficult, especially for someone like him, “who used to be allowed to spend 1.20 euros per dinner”, as he says.And because everything has become more expensive lately, he now has to react.

First of all, the tuner talks about the drastically increased used car prices, as reported by 24auto.de.

"The car market is exploding," explains JP Kraemer.

He is currently looking for "donor vehicles" for upcoming projects.

“And the cars that cost 4,000 euros back then now cost 8,000 euros.

Cars that used to cost 600,000 euros now cost 1 million euros.” He wonders where this is headed.

It could be a bubble that will burst soon.

"But it also awakens a mood of buying in me," says the tuner.

"I think you have to strike now.

Just imagine: we need cars to make YouTube.

Tuner JP Kraemer: "Everything around us is getting more expensive"

In the meantime, the YouTube star is juggling with enormous sums: According to his own statements, he had planned "a high six-figure sum" for this year's upcoming celebration of JP Performance's 10th birthday alone. Because of the corona pandemic, the party is now falling through. For comparison: He once started his company with just under 20,000 euros, explains JP Kraemer. Finally, the tuner comes to the real problem: it is difficult for him to remain "the same Jean Pierre in terms of value for money" for his fans.

"Everything around us is getting more expensive," says the tuner.

"Things that we have to buy in order to be able to give them to you." Other providers would, for example, charge 10 to 15 euros more for a sweater similar to the one he offers.

He has now held back price increases for months, "which of course massively reduces profits here in the company." Even if it's not about the money, as he emphasizes - he can't stop the chain as a "superhero".

Tuner JP Kraemer: "We really calculate very hard and very pointedly"

Although he doesn't say it specifically, it's clear what he's getting at: his products will probably soon become more expensive.

Nevertheless, he doesn't want his fans to worry about it: "We calculate really hard and very sharply because I don't want to give it away like the others," explains the tuner.

"Because I don't know whether all of this is really justified with these price increases."
