Herrsching's top scorer Samuel Jeanlys goes to France Bundesliga - WWK Volleys get Schumann from Haching

After 15 games for the WWK Volleys, their top scorer Samuel Jeanlys surprisingly said goodbye to France.

Herrsching - That came as a surprise. Samuel Jeanlys from WWK Volleys Herrsching is leaving the Bundesliga team with immediate effect. The 22-year-old Frenchman, who only came to Lake Ammer in the summer, is moving to the French first division volleyball team Stade Poitevin Poitiers, the 2019/20 cup winners. "We wish Sam a good rest of the season," Herrsching's coach Max Hauser took the news of the departure of his top scorer, after all the number five in the league in attacking points, relatively calmly.
"I'd like to thank all the fans, sponsors, helpers, managers and coaches for a good time," said Jeanlys, who had 183 attacking points as a diagonal attacker and picked up a total of five MVP medals in 15 games. However, the WWK Volleys quickly found a replacement for this key position. Philipp Schumann comes to Herrsching from local rival TSV Haching Munich. "I've always liked the WWK volleys and I'm happy to be able to wear one of the world-famous lederhosen jerseys," said the two-meter tall man, looking forward to the new challenge. The 28-year-old collected 154 attacking points at the bottom of the Bundesliga, for whom the season is already over.
In the meantime, dates have been set for the newly created intermediate stage, in which the top four teams and teams ranked fifth through eighth will compete for the best position in the playoffs beginning March 5. The WWK Volleys start in the lower group on January 23rd with an away game at the Netzhoppers Königs Wusterhausen. The Ammersee team will play the second game in the group of four on January 29 (Nikolaushalle) at home against the Helios Grizzlys Giesen. The other dates: Herrsching - Lüneburg (February 5, Nikolaushalle), Lüneburg - Herrsching (February 12), Giesen - Herrsching (February 19) and Herrsching - Königs Wusterhausen (February 27, Audi Dome). In the round, the points from the main round are deleted. However, the teams get bonus points depending on their placement. Lüneburg goes with nine,the Netzhoppers with six, Herrsching with three and Giesen with zero points in this intermediate round.
