Mayors and central authorities in the country today (Tuesday) called for an end to the isolation of children in the education system. The letter, signed by, among others, Tel Aviv Mayor Ron Huldai, Chairman of the Local Government Center Haim Bibbs and Chairman of the Regional Government Center Shai Hajaj, states that "It is our duty to ensure continuity in studies and routines for students and staff to ensure their safety and health. Restoring the sense of security along with ensuring the safety and health of students and staff is essential, and will be reaffirmed with the application of an orderly testing outline based on the 'Education Shield' program."
The mayors and authorities, which are grouped under the "15th Forum", added that in order to operate the test outline, a regular outline of tests must be contained within the schools, or by distributing kits to students and staff for regular home tests.
"Along with the tests, it must be ensured that only those who find positive will enter the isolation in accordance with the latest isolation shortening guidelines," they wrote.
"All students and staff who find negative, will continue to attend educational institutions as usual."
