The press office of the Russian Central Military Service stated in a statement today that the tactical exercises are taking place with the participation of 1,000 soldiers from the mechanized infantry units at the base, explaining that the soldiers will carry out defensive and offensive missions during these exercises using offensive reconnaissance systems with the support of artillery and army aviation.
The statement indicated that the exercises aim to test the combat readiness of the participating military units and to coordinate during the performance of combat training tasks.
It is noteworthy that the 201 military base stationed in Tajikistan is considered the largest Russian military facility outside its borders, and its facilities are distributed in the cities of Dushnye and Bakhtar.
