More than 4500 new corona infections in Rhineland-Palatinate

The health authorities in Rhineland-Palatinate registered 4542 new corona infections on Tuesday, more than ever before.
The state investigation office also determined the highest seven-day incidence to date at 438.3 (as of 2:10 p.m.).
On Monday it was still 405.1.
Mainz – Corona infection has currently been detected in 41,729 people in Rhineland-Palatinate.
The state examination office stated that the proportion of the virus variant Omicron in the infections genetically examined in the laboratory was 87 percent.

The hospitalization incidence - the number of hospital admissions per week per 100,000 inhabitants - increased from 2.85 to 3.34.
The number of reported deaths from Covid-19 patients increased by 7 to 4750.
The state capital Mainz recorded the highest seven-day incidence with 738.8 new infections per 100,000 inhabitants in the past seven days.
This was followed by the district of Bad Kreuznach (679.7) and the cities of Kaiserslautern (679.3) and Speyer (654.3).
The lowest incidence was 188.6 in the Southwest Palatinate district.
