Dießen – The dog sports club Dießen, founded in 1975, can hope for its continued existence. The prerequisite is a new "dahoam" after the lease contract for the training grounds on Gruberberg behind the "Tannenhof" country inn, which was occupied in 1990, was not extended. The search for a replacement plot of land, which had to be away from a residential area because of the inevitable barking of dogs, has been going on for months, wringing hands and paws. Through private contacts, CEO Franz Kuchler found a suitable site on the eastern Vogelherdweg.

In its current meeting, the building and environmental committee of the market community dealt with the HSV application for a preliminary decision as to whether a dog training area with an equipment and recreation hall can be approved here in the outdoor area. After a lengthy discussion, the majority of the community gave the basic agreement, but with a catalog of measures that still had to be clarified. So that the dogs cannot escape during training, the property is to be fenced in with a sheep or wild animal fence made of galvanized wire about one meter high. In addition, the association would like to build an equipment hall including a recreation room with a floor area of ten by 25 meters, a ridge height of 6.5 meters and a pitched roof as on the current site.

This seemed too oversized for Hannelore Baur (SPD) and Franz Sanktjohanser (Diessen citizens). In addition to the reduction, Johannes Wernseher (CSU) also insisted on a dismantling obligation if the association moves out again or is dissolved. Since the piped Martinsgraben or Ziegelgraben runs through the property, its function must not be impaired by the development and the ten planned parking spaces. According to the application, mobile toilet cabins are planned, since a connection to the public water supply and sewage system is currently not possible.

Michael Hofmann (Bavarian Party) spoke out in favor of community agreement, since the increasingly important "dog license" can be obtained here for little money. Finally, HSV Dießen offers training courses from puppy games to young dog training to companion dog tests. This is precisely what every dog handler should strive for, as board member Franz Kuchler emphasized in an interview with KREISBOTEN. It is also an advantage for the market town with its 704 registered four-legged friends if as many dogs as possible pass this test and thus fit well into social interaction.

Board member Franz Kuchler and his wife Ingrid, who works as a dog sports trainer, feared having to dissolve the association, which currently has 65 two-legged and twice as many four-legged members, if they could not find new premises. All their hopes now rest on the eastern Vogelherdweg. They want to start with the detailed planning immediately, incorporate the wishes of the building committee and submit their concept to the municipal council for final approval. Until the new dog training ground is completed, the four-legged friends can still learn obedience or track reading on the Gruberberg, even if only for a limited time.

At the dog sports club in Dießen, people and dogs are active together.

Puppy training is one of the most important program items.

From the ninth week, when their socialization phase begins, the puppies are trained to be obedient through play.

Around 40 puppies go through this training every year.

In contrast to full-time dog trainers, the HSV club offer is much cheaper and affordable for everyone.

A large selection of sports also offers optimal employment for every breed of dog.

According to Ingrid Kuchler, dog sport is exercise, fun, competition and education at the same time.

All of this is absolutely serious under the umbrella of the Bavarian State Association for Dog Sports.

The focus is on the partnership between dog and human: Bonding and trust are built up with modern training methods.

Dog sport encompasses a variety of disciplines that challenge both the dog and the handler. The well-rehearsed human-dog teams are not just about obedience, but also about social compatibility with other dogs and people. There are championships for all dog sports, in which HSV Dießen usually performs successfully. In recent years, five Upper Bavarian championships have been won, two Bavarian championships and, to top it off, the German championship in the "Obedience" category. This means obedience in German and is referred to as the "High School of Subordination".

The Dießen club has also organized and carried out various tournaments and Upper Bavarian championships.

As in the "Agility" division.

In this fast-paced sport, the dog has to overcome a course consisting of several obstacles in a fixed order and time.

Masters or mistresses show him the way with body language and spoken commands, but are not allowed to touch animals or obstacles.
