A policeman was killed and two injured in a shootout in the Pakistani capital, Islamabad.
"Two gunmen opened fire last night at a police checkpoint in Islamabad, killing a policeman and wounding two others, while the two attackers were killed at the place," the agency quoted the Pakistani Interior Ministry as saying.
No party has claimed responsibility for the attack, while the Pakistani Interior Ministry ordered an investigation into the incident, which represents a minor security breach of its kind in the capital.
Eight people were killed and four others wounded in two separate shooting incidents in Pakistan late last month.
