The Kowloon City Police District Anti-Terrorist Team and the Special Duty Team launched the "LEVINGTON" operation for three consecutive days from Sunday to Tuesday (16th to 18th), smashing two illegal casinos and arresting a total of 31 people .
The two illegal casinos involved in the case, including an illegal fishing machine gambling stall and an illegal mahjong gambling stall, are located in two units on Tam Kung Road and To Kwa Wan Road, Kowloon City. The police arrested a 52-year-old local female host and a 66-year-old local male host. A person suspected of "operating a gambling establishment" and contravening the Prevention and Control of Disease (Requirements and Directions) (Business and Premises) Regulation (Cap. 599F).
In addition, officers also arrested 10 local men, 14 local women, 4 mainland men and 1 non-Chinese man (aged between 21 and 54) on suspicion of "gambling in gambling establishments" and suspected of violating the "Prevention and Control" Disease (Prohibition on Group Gathering) Regulations (Cap. 599G), the officers then issued a fixed penalty notice to them.
During the operation, officers seized 2 fishing machines, 2 shooting game machines, a batch of game cards, a card reader, 2 electric mahjong tables, 4 sets of mahjong and about 4,400 yuan in gambling money.
All arrested persons will be detained for investigation.
