Romania recorded 16,760 new infections with the Corona virus today, in the largest increase recorded in one day since last October, amid the outbreak of the mutated Omicron strain.
According to the latest statistics of the World Meter website, the total number of injuries in the country reached one million and 911546 injuries, while the number of deaths reached 59,257 cases, with 65 deaths recorded during the past day.
The data of the Romanian Ministry of Health indicated that the number of new infections is close to the record level that the country witnessed last October, and it reached 18,863 cases per day at that time.
Romania is the second least vaccinated country among the European Union, with less than 41 percent of the total vaccinated.
Romania has reduced the period of isolation and quarantine for infected people and their direct contacts, and for travelers coming from countries that pose a high risk and have not been examined, to different periods that depend on whether they have received the vaccine.
In turn, Bulgaria recorded a new record increase in daily infections with Corona, amounting to 9,996 injuries, in addition to 161 deaths, bringing the total number of injuries to 830,604 since the start of the pandemic, and deaths to 32,247 cases.
