The Russian Ministry of Defense announced that the Russian and Belarusian armies are working to engage all the military capabilities of the two countries in order to ensure security.
"In cooperation with the Belarusian side, an understanding was reached that for joint defense it will be necessary to engage the full potential of the military structure," Russian Deputy Defense Minister Alexander Fomin said today.
Fomin justified this by saying that a situation may arise in which the forces and means of regional forces are not enough to guarantee the security of the Union State, and we must be ready to strengthen it.
Fomin said that various options for joint action will be developed to neutralize threats and ensure the stability of the situation on the borders of Russia and Belarus during the test of the rapid deterrent forces of the Union state, which was agreed upon by the presidents of the two countries, Vladimir Putin and Alexander Lukashenko, at the end of last year.
