A new report by the Anti-Semitism Movement reviews the antisemitic hashtags published on social media in 2021 • Among the disgusting nicknames: "Hitler was right", "the Holocaust was right", "Jews for gas" • And what are social networks doing to prevent the phenomenon?

In anticipation of International Holocaust Remembrance Day on January 27 and as part of the 2021 activity summary, the Anti-Semitism Movement presents a new report online reviewing the most popular antisemitic hashtags written on social media in the past year by thousands of users worldwide, totaling 188 million. The positive change is that some networks have started removing content that contains the hashtags they have defined as anti-Semitic and preventing the search option of those hashtags.

Among the shocking hashtags found to be popular according to the report are statements such as "Hitler was right," "Jews for gas," "Jewish pike," "The Holocaust was right," "I hate Jews," "Jews are terrorists," "Murder of Jews" and more The list of popular hashtags is at the end of the article.

Over the past year social networks such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Tiktok and YouTube, have changed their policy towards such hashtags, and have started removing the content containing the hashtags they have defined as anti-Semitic, and also blocking the possibility of looking for these hashtags.

However, according to a survey by the Anti-Semitism Movement on the Internet, users can still post content with these hashtags, despite the fact that they run counter to social network policies regarding hate content and Holocaust denial.

"It can be seen that hatred is intensifying on the Internet, and the eradication of the phenomenon must be urgently addressed," warns Barak Aharon, director of the movement's anti-Semitism movement.

"As we have seen during Operation Wall Guard and in previous events, this virtual content distributed on a variety of social networks, leads to an increase in antisemitic discourse and physical harm to Jews around the world. The popular hashtags published in the report must come to an end as soon as possible.

We call on social networks to eradicate this phenomenon and block those users who post them. "

The Anti-Semitism Network is an Israeli organization that monitors and reports antisemitic and racist content online.

The movement is among the only bodies in the world that reports this content daily and hourly in a variety of languages and social networks.
