The State Attorney's Office is expected to file an indictment against a well-known attorney in the case of an attempt to indict a judge in the Haifa District Court.

As part of the investigation by the National Fraud Investigation Unit of disrupting a legal proceeding in order to skew its results using a judge, the attorney became one of the suspects in the case.

Beside him, two more lawyers are expected to be charged subject to a hearing.

The police and the prosecutor's office attribute to the renowned lawyer serious offenses of obstruction of justice, use of a forged document, attempt to obtain anything fraudulently under aggravated circumstances and perjury.

He and the others involved deny the suspicions outright.

The sensitive case has been under investigation at the JHA for about four years. Attorney General Avichai Mandelblit, who is about to end his term, and then-State Attorney Shai Nitzan, ordered the police to investigate it after journalist Guy Peleg published in the news 12 alleged text messages between a senior security official The trial to the judge, in which he asked that he revoke an order he had given.

The judge himself apparently rescued the indictment that was being formulated. The judge himself denied any involvement, and at the end of the investigation he did appear to be a victim of an attempted indictment as an accomplice in the case. To the court, he came into the world thanks to the stubbornness of another judge in the Haifa District Court, who insisted on submitting written references to statements heard in his courtroom in parallel proceedings. These are now used as evidence in the case.

At the center of the affair, a 35-year-old resident of Kiryat Haim known to the police and the tax authority, who completed the case in question in prison, and who had previously divided his time between Israel and businesses in Thailand and the United States.

He allegedly went to Thailand for a month, with the judge's approval, but when he made a decision not to appear again for evidence in the case in which he was charged and deadlines were set, he decided to present the court with a false impression that he was seriously injured in a car accident in Thailand.

The prosecution insists that he shared his defense counsel with this program, and sent him photographs of fake medical certificates from a clinic in Thailand, which the lawyer used to support the judge's request - knowing that the client was not involved in a car accident and that the certificates were false and intended to mislead the court.

The judge denied the request on the grounds that the medical certificates were not a sufficient reference. Then, according to the suspicion, the lawyer submitted a clarification notice to which was attached a false medical record according to which the client was about to undergo leg surgery and a doctor on behalf of the hospital recommended him 30 days of rest. The prosecution will argue that even this, when the lawyer knows that the documents are forged and with intent to mislead the court.

The judge has meanwhile issued the following order against the accused abroad, and then on suspicion, he met in Thailand a well-known Israeli rescuer of a well-known insurance company, a 71-year-old resident of Kfar Vradim, also a suspect in the affair The court security. Indeed, according to the suspicion, the security man turned to the judge and informed him that the defendant would not appear for the hearing. Knowing that things were false and with the aim of misleading this judge as well, the judge insisted on an affidavit, and the defendant himself was not yet in the country.

At the same time, according to the suspicion, the rescuer met with the defendant in Rome, in order to bring him into Israel without being stopped at the border crossing due to the next order.

The JHA investigation revealed that on July 31, 2017, they flew together from Rome to Israel, and at Ben Gurion Airport, the international rescuer instructed the defendant to wait near the biometric crossing, then gave him the entry permit he received for himself, and the defendant entered using it.

Later, the rescuer approached those responsible for crossing the border, claimed that he had not received a ticket from the device and in this way received an entry permit with which he entered Israel.

Five days later, when the defendant appeared with defense counsel before Judge Toby, the judge expressed bewilderment that he had not been stopped at the border crossing to carry out the next order.

At the end of the lengthy investigation, the well-known lawyer is now suspected that together with his accused client and the extractor he used medical certificates and documents knowing that they were forged, with the intention of revoking the next order and forfeiture of bail and failure to appear for hearings. This, by misleading the court hearing a criminal case and by committing additional offenses and while demonstrating sophistication and planning, and by committing an act with intent to prevent and frustrate a judicial proceeding or to bring about a miscarriage of justice and together with the two submitted a false affidavit before the Haifa District Court.

Due to the Haifa District Attorney's acquaintance with the known parties involved, the handling of the case was transferred to the Tel Aviv District Attorney's Office, which at the beginning of the week summoned those involved to hearings. All involved deny the suspicions attributed to them.

"I had no contact with any of those involved other than the defendant I represented," the suspect's lawyer said, adding that in 2016, six years ago, he assumed that everything his client had told him was true.

"I will mention that four attorneys represented this defendant in the cases in question. They all received the same documents from him," he added.

Advocate Boaz Koenig, who is representing the suspect, told Walla!

The suspicions in this case were initially immeasurably serious, and in this regard he wrote a suspicion that was transferred to us from moderating the alleged events. "

No response was given on behalf of the rescuer.
