As-Suwayda-Sana
The branch of the Syrian Trading Corporation in As-Suwayda Governorate borrowed about 7 tons of citrus fruits from Lattakia Governorate and began offering them today in the city hall for vegetables and fruits.
The director of the Foundation’s branch, Rabie Ghanem, said in a statement to SANA reporter today that the quantities rented are of the “Abu Surra” type, and other halls will be supplied there, in addition to running two mobile cars to sell the material at lower prices than the market.
For his part, the director of the City Hall for Fruits and Vegetables, Mamoun Al-Aqel, indicated in a similar statement that the selling prices per kilogram of “Abu Surra” are 800 pounds for the first type and 700 pounds for the second variety, pointing out that additional quantities of citrus will continue to be imported in the coming days.
During the current season, the Foundation's branch had rented more than 80 tons of citrus from the governorates of Lattakia and Tartous.
