The Czech Deputy Minister of Health for limiting the spread of the Corona virus, Josef Pavlovic, warned that the number of daily infections with the Omicron mutant in the Czech Republic could reach 200,000, according to pessimistic scenarios.

Pavlovitz said in a radio interview today that “the number of infections with the Omikron mutant is on the rise now, and every two days the number of people infected with it can double, especially since most of the injuries are caused by it,” noting that “the most realistic scenario for the spread of this mutant is the occurrence of 50 thousand infections per day, while the most pessimistic scenario is It is for the number of injuries to reach 200,000.”

Pavlovitz added, "Although the symptoms of infection with this mutation seem weak, the occurrence of high infections can burden the work of hospitals more than the Delta mutation."
