The Spanish National Police located a girl on Monday who could be a victim of Internet abuse after posting photos of her room on the social network Twitter and asking her followers for help.
The entity uploaded three images of a visibly childish bedroom, with a message that read: "Very important.
A minor could be at risk.
Please take a good look at these photos and write to us at cgpj.bitpm3@policia.es if you recognize this room." according to the newspaper El País of Spain.
In one of the photos, a wall decorated with cardboard owls, medals and colorful cushions was observed.
In a second there was a bed with several stuffed animals and hangers with bags and girl's clothes.
And in the third image, a wardrobe with children's stickers and two heart-shaped ornaments could be distinguished.

"Your emails have made it possible to identify the room (and in record time). Thank you very much. Our agents have already contacted the minor's relatives and
are continuing the investigations
," the police said on their official Twitter account.
Sources from the institution indicated that this request was part of an open —and judicialized— investigation of child pornography, developed by the Cybercrime Unit.
The court, in fact,
allowed the momentary dissemination of the images to help in the search
, according to the Spanish newspaper El Mundo.

The complication of this investigation was that the girl had to be located, but without publicly identifying her, since it would have re-victimized her and it would have been a crime on the part of the police for not preserving the elements that could identify a minor victim of a crime.

This is not the first time that the Spanish Police relies on the help of citizens for an investigation.
In 2018, for example, they released an anonymous call to the Red Cross that was key to solving the crime of
an 81-year-old man who suffocated to death
