For the first time since he was elected to the post in June last year and in the wake of the nuclear talks in Vienna, Iranian President Ibrahim Raisi will meet his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin.
According to the Kremlin, the two will discuss a wide range of issues and bilateral cooperation.
Since 2017, the Iranian president has not visited Moscow for an official meeting.
This time, the summit is expected to focus on relations between the two countries, which are considered allies, but the main topic of discussion will be around the messages conveyed at the moment from the Austrian capital, where the powers - including Russia - are negotiating to return the Islamic Republic to the old 2015 nuclear deal.

As you may recall, the parties tried to reach a compromise, but after eight rounds of discussions, no breakthrough has yet been registered that will lead to the intended agreement.
Following a brief hiatus, the representatives of the countries returned yesterday (Monday) to Kabrug Palace in favor of another meeting with Iran represented by its Deputy Foreign Minister, Ali Bagari Kanye.
Earlier in the day, Iranian Foreign Minister Amir Abdullahian spoke with his Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov about the state of talks in Vienna before the meeting between the two countries on Wednesday.
As part of the visit to Russia, Raisi is expected to deliver a speech in the local parliament on Thursday.
