Italy tightens the screw again.

Despite a high vaccination rate, the Boot is also facing a meteoric wave of Covid-19 caused by the Omicron variant.

The government is betting on the establishment of a “super health pass” to continue to welcome tourists.

The country tightened its restrictions on January 10 (vaccination pass to fly or go to a restaurant) but remains open to French people, who must however have a negative test (PCR of less than 48 hours or antigen of less than 24 hours) upon arrival in the country, whether they are vaccinated or not.

Non-vaccinated persons must respect a five-day quarantine at the address indicated on the traceability form.

These measures apply until at least January 31, 2022.

WHITE, YELLOW, ORANGE OR RED ZONES

Since last year, a decree-law has classified Italian regions into four zones, according to the rate of circulation of the virus: red zone for maximum risk, orange for high risk, yellow for moderate risk and white for reduced risk. .

Travelers are invited to check their status before any trip on the Italian government map as well as on the sites of the regions.

The placement of a region in one of the four categories is decided by the Minister of Health, taking into account many indicators.

As of January 18, 2022, Abruzzo, Calabria, Emilia-Romagna, Friuli-Venezia Giulia, Lazio, Liguria, Lombardy, Marche, Veneto, Piedmont, Sicily, Tuscany, the autonomous province of Bolzano and the autonomous province of Trento are classified in yellow (moderate risk), and Valle d'Aosta is classified in orange (high risk).

In these regions, a curfew is in place from midnight to 5 a.m. and bars and restaurants must close at 6 p.m.

It is actually a vaccination pass: it is given to people who have received the first dose for a fortnight, those fully vaccinated or recently cured of Covid.

From February 1, it will be valid for six months from the date of the last vaccine injection.

Apart from these cases, a simple test is no longer accepted.

This concerns access to restaurants, hotels, museums, nightclubs, cinemas and concert halls.
