Various theatrical performances of shadow puppets and puppets witnessed on the third day of the Child Theater Festival in the governorates, which is currently being held to coincide with the middle holiday.

The stage of the Arab Cultural Center in the city of Al-Sanamayn in Daraa hosted the play The Kingdom of the Dwarves, directed by Ayman Al-Abbas and Sana Al-Alwa, who wrote it.

Head of the Al-Sanamayn Center, Muhammad Khair Abu Hawiya, said in a statement to SANA Cultural that the work calls for spreading the spirit of cooperation among young people and aims to spread smiles and joy on their faces.

The author of the work, Sana Al-Alwa, explained with a similar statement that the work tells of a group of dwarves living in the forest in peace until someone comes who threatens their security and stability so that they can finally overcome it thanks to their cooperation, pointing out that she tried through the work to bring happiness to the hearts of children within the psychological support process.

The director of the work, Ayman Al-Abbas, explained that the message of the show is that strength and cooperation with love produce miracles and overcome all difficulties.

A number of attendees expressed their joy at this directed work, which would enhance the children's confidence in themselves and push them to cooperate and not work alone.

The audience of the festival in Homs watched performances of puppet theater and shadow puppetry in the children's section of the cultural center in the city.

Saba Wassouf, head of the Children and Adolescents Department in the Directorate of Culture, indicated that the puppet theater and shadow puppet shows focused on the importance of animal welfare and changing misconceptions about it and how to deal with it.

Raymonda Ibrahim, founder of the Sernay Community Support Center, spoke about the center's participation in an activity, during which specialists presented a puppet show with forest animals, with the aim of promoting the values ​​of humane kindness with animals and communicating some information about these creatures, pointing to the importance of theater of all kinds as a tool to bring and communicate information to children.

In Tartous, director Amal Al-Ali presented her purposeful comedy play “The Farm” on the stage of the National Theater with the participation of 12 boys and girls.

According to its director, the show tells the story of children who live on a farm and go on adventures with Amira, the daughter of a miserly merchant, during which they learn many human and social values ​​such as cooperation and loyalty and not allowing strangers to interfere in their happy and contented lives.

Director Al-Ali explained that the mission of the work is to develop the spirit of love, intimacy and other values ​​among children, in addition to refining the acting talent of the participating children, indicating that she was keen to present her work through the use of cartoon characters, as they are loved by the child and understand their content in an easy and simplified way.

Among the children participating in the show, Jana Al-Talawi, Ahmed Khader and Nour Bodour spoke about the need to take advantage of free time, especially during the holiday, so that the students can activate their hobbies, especially through the theater that attracts children and present it in front of the audience to develop their self-confidence.
