A Member of Parliament defected to the opposition while harshly criticizing the conduct of the government in the face of the Corona crisis • A senior member of Johnson's party called for his resignation

The Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Boris Johnson, is facing an unprecedented political crisis after a Member of Parliament defected to the Labor Party and within the party there were clear calls for his resignation, due to the party scandal at the Prime Minister's Residence at 10 Downing Street.

Conservative MP Christian Wakeford defected from his party to rival Labor, an unusual move in terms of British politics.

Wakeford, who represents the constituency of Barry South, said minutes before the prime minister's query in parliament that Johnson "is unable to offer the leadership the state needs at this difficult time."

The MP wrote to the Prime Minister: "The policies of the Conservative government in your possession do not in any way contribute to helping the residents of my constituency and only exacerbate their difficulties."

Afterwards, Conservative MP and former Minister David Davis criticized the prime minister and called on him to resign.

"In the name of God, go," the politician told the prime minister during a query to the prime minister in parliament.

"I have been trying to protect him for months from my angry constituency people. You have sat here too long for these few achievements," the MP told the prime minister.

Johnson was quick to respond, saying: "I do not know what these MPs are talking about. I take full responsibility for everything the government has done."

Johnson counted his government's achievements in the face of the Corona crisis and its success in getting Britain out of the EU.

The criticism against the prime minister is directed at the government's conduct during the corona crisis as well as a series of media exposures in the country on several parties held by the prime minister's staff, in which Johnson himself was present, during the corona closure apparently in clear violation of the guidelines.

Last week police announced that an investigation of the incidents was possible subject to a parliamentary inquiry and Johnson himself apologized for the things but claimed he had no intention of resigning.

Meanwhile, Johnson announced the impending abolition of some of the Corona's restrictions on the population of England.

The Prime Minister announced the move during a stormy sitting of the British Parliament and his opponents claimed it was a move designed to save his political skin and win support among the rebels in the Conservative faction.

Johnson said the obligation to wear a mask in workplaces, classrooms and public transportation would be abolished and a green sign would not be required for entry to malls and entertainment venues.

"We will rely on the judgment of the English people," the prime minister told lawmakers.
