"She had lots of dreams": 19-year-old Shira was killed in an accident in Mesubim | Israel today

Shira Jogam Yatayo, 19, from Kiryat Ata, was killed in the fatal car accident that occurred yesterday (Tuesday) at the Mesubim interchange.

Shira's family immigrated to Israel from Ethiopia 11 years ago.

She is the ninth of ten brothers and sisters, served in national service in Tel Aviv.

"We met last Saturday, the whole family sat together, we talked, we laughed," her brother Avraham said in pain, "Shira was a good girl, helping everyone. "She wanted to study medicine, get married, have children, build her own home."

He added: "We do not know who was with her in the vehicle and how the accident happened, so far no official has spoken to us about the matter."

Asrat, Shira's cousin, added: "She was like a little sister to me, we played together. Whenever there was a problem, I was by her side and upside down. I was willing to swap with her in an accident, that I would be there."

"Unfortunately, no one is updating us on what happened. The social worker at the Abu Kabir Institute of Forensic Medicine announced that all the information is in the hands of the police, but no one is telling us anything."
