7.21 Defendant Lin Qiming in the white man case pleaded for bail pending appeal, but the judge said he had no good chance of winning the case

The seven men involved in the attack on 721 men in white at Yuen Long West Rail Station were sentenced to three and a half to seven years in prison for rioting and other crimes.

One of the defendants, Lin Qiming, was released on bail during the appeal period. The judge of the Court of Appeal dismissed his application after hearing his arguments today (19th), and pointed out that the behavior of the man in white at the time of the case was no different from "private" in nature, and there were also Express hatred.

The judge also believed that Lin Qiming was sentenced to 4 years and 8 months in prison. Although the sentence was not light, it was not obviously excessive. He believed that he had no good chance of winning the case.

The eight defendants in the case: Wang Zhirong, Huang Yingjie, Lin Guanliang, Lin Qiming, Deng Huaichen, Wu Weinan, Deng Yingbin and Cai Liji. The first defendant, Wang Zhirong, was found not guilty after trial. Among the defendants who pleaded guilty or were convicted after trial, except for the second defendant, Huang Yingjie, the other six appealed.
