Sales at Airbus are picking up again.

The aircraft manufacturer, which also has a location near Munich, is looking for 6,000 new employees.

Munich – In view of the increasing demand for aircraft, Airbus is initially looking for 6,000 new employees by the end of June.

The European aircraft manufacturer announced on Wednesday that about a quarter of these should be hired around the topics of decarbonization, digital transformation and cyber technology.

Around a third should be university graduates.

"Airbus has shown resilience in the Corona crisis and laid the foundation for a bright future in sustainable aviation," said Human Resources Manager Thierry Baril.

You need extra power for that.

Just last year, Airbus announced that it would cut 15,000 jobs, about a third of them in Germany.

At the end of September, Airbus still had almost 126,000 employees.

Baril announced that the need for recruitment should be reviewed again in the first half of the year.

Airbus: sales figures are increasing

After the first corona shock, sales figures at Airbus rose sharply again;

the group also benefited from the problems at archrival US Boeing.

The production of short-haul aircraft of the A320/A321 family is to be screwed from the current 45 machines per month to 75 aircraft by 2025.
