Egyptian sources reported last night (Tuesday) to Qatar-affiliated Al-Arabi Al-Jadid newspaper about the visit to Israel of a senior Egyptian intelligence official, Muhammad al-Sisi, the son of the president, 'Abd al-Fatah al-Sisi.

It was further alleged that the son, who is gaining considerable influence in Egyptian intelligence, was not alone and arrived in Israel accompanied by a delegation of senior officials in charge of the Israeli and Palestinian files.
It was also reported that the son was appointed to oversee relations with Israel, following the appointment of General Ayman Badie as head of the committee dealing with the lobbying case.
The sources added that this is not the first time that Muhammad a-Sisi has traveled to Israel as part of his role in Egyptian intelligence.
According to the report, the son accompanied Egyptian intelligence chief Abbas Kamel on his previous visit.
It was further alleged that the current visit was pre-planned.
According to al-Arabi al-Jadid, in the current period, contacts between senior officials in Egyptian intelligence and the Israeli security system have intensified.
This is for the purpose of understanding the matter of introducing amendments to the Camp David agreement.
Among other things, it was reported that Egypt has plans to establish an industrial zone in the northern Sinai Peninsula near the border with the Gaza Strip.
Sources noted that the visit also included a discussion on the rehabilitation of the Gaza Strip.
