The association “Bürger fürs Badehaus Waldram-Föhrenwald” was founded ten years ago.

540 members now support the association.

Waldram – On September 25, 2012, the association “Bürger fürs Badehaus Waldram-Föhrenwald” was founded, six years later the meeting and documentation center at Kolpingplatz was opened.

At the same time, the chairperson welcomed Dr.

Sybille Krafft around 20 new members on Sunday morning as well as two artists whose exhibitions can be seen this year.

The association has 540 members

"There are about 40,000 volunteer hours in the bathhouse," calculated Krafft.

The number of members of the association is now 540. According to Krafft, with the annual contributions of 25 euros each, at least the basic equipment for the complex museum operation is secured.

She is particularly pleased that many young people are also involved in the place of remembrance.

"We want to involve the next generation in positions of responsibility," emphasized the historian.

There are around 40,000 volunteer hours in the bathhouse.

As exemplary examples, Krafft referred to the federal volunteers Felicitas Hörl and Nathalie Schauer, the deputy chairman Jonathan Coenen and the 450-euro jobber Lisa Strohmeier.

The LMU student also helped design the 36-page annual program and explained the kick-off event "#Uploading_Holocaust", which will take place on Saturday, January 29 at 6 p.m. in the Badehaus.

The documentary of the same name consists of YouTube videos that Israeli schoolchildren made during a class trip and conversations with Holocaust witnesses in Poland.

Light installation and benefit concert

Three weeks later, on Saturday, February 19, a special light installation illuminates the bathhouse.

"The Munich artist Markus Heinsdorff made lights out of life jackets that refugees used to make their way across the Mediterranean," explained Krafft.

Two days before International Women's Day, the association invites you to the benefit concert and lecture evening "Föhrenwalder Weibsbilder" on Sunday, March 6th, from 6 p.m.

Their fates can also be read in the now almost out of print calendar “Wolfratshauser Weibsbilder”.

Partisan film starring Daniel Craig

This will be followed by a screening of the partisan film "Inflexible" starring James Bond actor Daniel Craig (April 9) and the lavish reading to commemorate the book burning on May 10 in the Loisachhalle. The focus is on the works of international authors who have been persecuted for political or religious reasons since 1945. After the performance of the play "Fremd.Sein.Heimat" (June 25th), eyewitness talks and film excerpts on "Resistance under National Socialism" (July 17th) and the general meeting on the tenth founding day (September 25th), the Seeshaupt artist Michael von Brentano promises on October 22 an “artistic intervention with moments of surprise”. Among others, he was inspired by Herbert Nauderer from Münsingen, whose drawings, objects and video works were still in use up to the 20th of December.February in the bathhouse can be seen.

Culinary home evening with Dr.

Edmund Stoiber

A culinary folk evening on November 6th, attended by the former Bavarian Prime Minister Dr.

Edmund Stoiber will speak a word of welcome, as well as a reading and a discussion on the topic "The Muslim and the Jewess" on December 11th will conclude the annual program.

"We can only hope that we can hold as many events as possible in person," says Krafft.

If the corona numbers are high, the club has to make do with technically complex transmissions to the Internet, as in the previous year.
