Little Baierbrunn has big plans for the near future.

It is being built, and new gastronomy is also to be created.

- At the same time, the head of the town hall, Patrick Ott, is already thinking beyond the current election time.

In 2026, the year of the next municipal elections in Bavaria, there is a big anniversary in Baierbrunn - the place will be 1250 years old.

"It's a really, really big issue," says Ott, "we're going to plan on a grand scale."

He thinks of a "festival for the region with a lot of culture".

But there is still a lot to be done in the years to come.

Baierbrunn wants to tackle two projects next year: a building with another eight social housing units on Ahornstraße in Buchenhain and the urgently needed new changing room, which of course also provides many other rooms for clubs and athletes, on the site of the sports and community center .

The new building should come behind the postal wagon where the young people meet.

Recently, the small community of Baierbrunn also has a market, which is very well received every Wednesday.

Furthermore: school will also continue in 2022, the permanent topic par excellence in the community.

After all, the most important course has now been set after years of back and forth.

There will be a new building on the left edge of the playground with "modern learning landscapes" for all classes.

The old building would then be available for the whole day.

The whole thing is to be planned by the architects, who also designed the transom from the 1980s, Bernhard Peck and Armin Daam.

Patrick Ott hopes that the tenders can go ahead next year, so that the groundbreaking ceremony could take place in 2023.

And then the community, in which life has recently begun to bubble, wants to create new meeting places for young people and senior citizens in the coming year.

Each based on surveys made by the administration.

Accordingly, the common rooms that already exist at the Sattlerkreuz and that could be prepared without much effort are to be revived for the 60 plus generation.

Events could take place here, but the municipality has already thought aloud about appointing something like a district manager, a kind of caretaker for the elderly.

The further plans for the sports and community center?

Looks like the head of the town hall wants to create opportunities for new gastronomy in the building itself.

Ott thinks an "American Sportsbar" would fit in here, where there should be steaks, burgers and bowls and which consoles the people of Baierbrunn that the "Gasthof Zur Post" has finally closed.

He already has interested restaurateurs on hand, “the bottleneck here is the permit”.

In the long term, the sports facilities around the building are also to be expanded.

"I want to have a much more colorful and lively Baierbrunn than today." The community has already woken up from its slumber, but: "I still want to create space for cabaret and high culture."
