In view of the Omikron variant, it will not be a normal carnival season in Penzberg this year either.

However, those responsible for the Organizing Committee (OC) Penzberger Fasching do not want to let the virus spoil the foolish time.

Alternative events are currently being planned.

Penzberg

- Last year, the corona virus really ruined the fifth season for the carnival enthusiasts in Penzberg. In order to celebrate at least a little bit, the OK had thought about corona-compliant events and, for example, invited to the online carnival. There were three such online events, at which members of the Garden, among others, also appeared. The response to this was "relatively large", sums up OC President Maxi Eller. The feedback from the participants was "consistently positive". This success from last season has encouraged the carnival association to hold online events again this year. The association had hoped for a long time to be able to celebrate at least one "3G plus" carnival. And on November 11th,the traditional carnival start was also celebrated on a small scale on the town hall square. But about four weeks ago all planned balls and guard meetings were canceled (we reported).

Training of the guards should continue

So far, however, the training of the guards has continued, according to Eller – in attendance and once a week.

"As long as it is possible", the dancers would continue to rehearse.

This was agreed again recently at a club meeting.

At this meeting, it was also agreed that the “Lachkurier” should appear despite the canceled balls and the like – probably in early or mid-February.

The association also published its carnival newspaper last year.

In addition, it was decided at the meeting that the OC will plan two online events: an evening party on Saturday, February 26, from around 7 p.m.;

and a children's ball on Sunday, February 27, from 3 p.m.

Because, according to Eller, “we want to offer something.

We want to keep going."

Details of the program are currently being worked out.

According to Eller, “small specials” are also planned.

One idea is to deliver cocktails to the participants of the evening ball.

According to Eller, it is already clear that both events will be held on the OC's You Tube channel.

And the guards should present their rehearsed dances.

After all, according to Eller, they worked on it all year and trained a lot – this effort should not have been in vain.

The royal couples remain secret

However, the dancers will not wear their ready-made garde costumes during the performances.

They should remain secret until next season.

The same applies to the two princely couples.

The OK has chosen a child and an adult prince couple.

"They exist," says Eller.

Both should not be presented this year.

Their identity should remain secret until the next proper carnival season.

Should the Corona rules be relaxed in February, the OC could also imagine organizing a carnival party outdoors quite spontaneously - always, of course, provided that such a party would be allowed and would also be worthwhile for the club in terms of effort .

According to Eller, there is a high probability that a fun worm through the city center will not be possible this year.
