Nearly two years after the start of the coronavirus crisis, experts at the Ministry of the Economy see more clearly on the expenses incurred in the name of the presidential “whatever it takes” to avoid the collapse of a party economy.
The bill is abysmal: more than 140 billion euros in expenditure has been incurred to finance emergency aid for businesses – such as partial unemployment and the solidarity fund – or even vaccines and tests, which are massively used.
