Ankara-Sana

The Turkish regime has allocated a huge budget estimated at two billion Turkish liras to establish new prisons this year.

The Turkish newspaper Zaman reported that the investment program for the year 2022, which was issued with the signature of the head of this regime, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, allocated a total of one billion and 988 million Turkish liras to the Ministry of Justice in order to build 64 new prisons in Turkey.

The provinces of Malatya, Konya, Mush, Tokat and Zonguldak were included among the provinces where new prisons would be established.

Turkey, under Erdogan's rule, is among the countries with the highest prison population, as it occupies the eighth place in the world in terms of the number of prisoners in relation to the population, and tens of thousands of opponents of Erdogan are imprisoned with pretexts and trumped-up charges.
