The French army announced the injury of four of its soldiers in the explosion of an explosive device in northern Burkina Faso.
"An explosive device exploded as a French military vehicle passed by after leaving Wahigoya airport, injuring four soldiers, one of them seriously," an army statement said, quoted by AFP.
Units of the French army are participating in Operation Barkhane, which has been going on for nearly seven years under the pretext of fighting terrorism in the Sahel region, which includes Mali, Niger and Burkina Faso, while more than forty French soldiers have been killed so far during it.
