Germany recorded more than 100,000 new cases of corona during the past 24 hours, according to data issued by the country's health authorities this morning.
The Robert Koch Institute for Infectious Diseases said that Germany recorded 112,323 infections during the past hours and 239 deaths, indicating that the weekly rate of injuries amounted to 584.4 new infections per 100,000 people over a period of seven days.
The record rise in infections in Germany comes with the spread of the Omicron mutant, which accounts for more than 70 percent of new infections.
This record rise in the number of infections comes despite the fact that the German authorities tightened restrictions to limit the spread of infection, restricting going to bars and restaurants with people who have received booster vaccines or who have undergone tests in addition to full vaccination or recovery.
In addition, restrictions on gatherings are still in force, as it is forbidden to exceed the number of people during special occasions of ten or two families only in the event that an unvaccinated person is present.
