Seven men have been on trial there since January 4, suspected of being involved, to varying degrees, in the robbery of a Chopard boutique in Paris in December 2015 and that of a Chanel jewelry store in the capital in May 2016, for a total damage of more than 3 million euros. They also respond to the theft of an unmarked cash transport vehicle, that of five Range Rovers and the constitution of an arms cache where explosives, two Kalashnikovs and ammunition, had notably been found. Two of them, who did not appear at the hearing, are tried in absentia and an arrest warrant has been issued against them. Three other men, also referred to the Assize Court but who contracted Covid-19 at the start of the trial, will be tried later.

The heaviest sentence, 20 years in prison, was required against Philippe Enriquez, described by the Advocate General as the "
conductor
" of the band.
Detained since July 2016, he was notably filmed passing in front of the Chopard boutique just before the robbery, was recognized by a witness as the driver of the car which was waiting for the robbers in front of Chanel and his DNA was found in a box used by criminals, as well as on wicks in the arms cache.
The verdict is expected at the end of the week.
