At the end of the cluse des Quatre Montagnes, on the edge of the Hauts Plateaux du Vercors nature reserve and the Nordic site, here is a delicious address. Discovered recently, this pretty traditional Vercors farm located in Bois Barbu, near the cross-country trails of Villard-de-Lans, has been welcoming tourists since the 19th century. Today, it is Emma Uzel, fifth generation, who has taken up the torch and the gîte in which she grew up. At the same time hostess, organic market gardener and ski instructor, the young woman, supported by her brother Thomas, renovated part of the house with simplicity and taste, favoring natural materials in echo of the omnipresent nature. Result: a cozy address with three rooms with minimalist and hygge decor (two new ones are coming for spring).

Opened in 1894, recognizable by its appearance of a large Savoyard house surrounded by 3 hectares of greenery, this three-star hotel has written a few pages in the history of Villard-de-Lans and the Vercors. Perched at 1000 meters, Autrans, whose destiny has been linked to that of Méaudre since 2016, is a town known for having hosted cross-country skiing, biathlon, jumping and Nordic combined events during the 1968 Olympic Games. It is also here that every winter, since 1979, the Foulée Blanche, a cross-country ski race, has taken place which attracts more than 5,000 participants of all levels. In this Nordic mecca, Caroline and Philippe have transformed a village house into three cozy independent guest rooms with shared living areas. The first slopes are less than 50 meters away and Pont-en-Royans, in the Drôme part of Vercors, 45 minutes away via the impressive gorges of the Bourne river.
