Sharan Hashakel's law is intended to regulate the construction of residential and agricultural buildings in pastures • MKs from Labor and Meretz left • The law eventually passed by a large majority thanks to members of the opposition

Another tense day in the coalition:

Knesset members from Labor and Meretz left the plenum today (Wednesday) while voting in a preliminary reading on MK Sharan Hashakel's private member's new hope.

This involves arranging the construction of residential and agricultural buildings in pastures.

The law was passed with the support of 57 MKs and the opposition of seven.

As you may recall, this is another "tackle" in the coalition after the absence of MK MK Jida Rinawi Zoabi (Meretz) from the vote on this week's draft law, which led to its rejection on first reading.

According to the Intellectual Property Bill, it is proposed to regulate the construction of residential and agricultural buildings in pastures.

In addition, it is proposed that the grazing authority in the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, with the approval of a local planning and construction committee, approve the construction of such buildings, and a permit be granted for an existing residential building where a shepherd's family resides, subject to compliance with the proposed law.

The explanatory memorandum reads: "As part of dealing with the plague of agricultural crime and to oversee the integrity of the herds, shepherds whose pastures are far from a locality are required to live in the pastures near the herd. "Shepherds are forced to spend the night supervising the integrity of their flocks without any shelter. This impossible reality leads some shepherds to erect uninhabited structures and live in them to maintain the integrity of the herd. The situation leads to legal proceedings and harsh enforcement measures against those shepherds."

MK Hashekel: "Farmers are collapsing and going bankrupt because the police are unable to deal with the phenomenon of agricultural crime.

"The farmers are in the priority circle of the current coalition and we are interested in preserving the life enterprise of the farmers in the State of Israel."

MK Osama Saadi (joint list) objected: "This is another proper Zionist circle, the voice is the voice of Sharan Hashakel but the hands are by Smutrich.

This is a coalition that cares only for Jewish farmers, what about Arab agriculture?

There is training for illegal construction here. "

In addition, another ugly confrontation was recorded today in the plenum.

MK Ofer Kasif (joint list) attacked MK Merav Ben-Ari (Yesh Atid): "Shut up with your chicken screams." MK Ben-Ari replied: "Who are you to talk to me in this way? You will not call any woman This is a 'chicken'. "

I will do everything possible so that one day you will not be here. "
