In response to the latest situation of the epidemic, the government has announced to extend the tightening of social distancing measures until February 3 (the third day of the new year).

The Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD) announced today (19th) that it will continue to suspend the opening of most of its recreational and cultural venues/facilities and cancel all recreational, sports and cultural activities during the period.

The following outdoor recreational venues and facilities will remain closed, including tennis courts, bowling greens, sports grounds, Ngau Chi Wan Park Archery Range, Shek O Jumping Golf Course, Tuen Mun Recreation and Sports Centre, hard/sand/grass pitches, Gate courts, table tennis tables, extreme sports fields, roller skating rinks, roller hockey rinks, skate parks, outdoor fitness facilities, model car parks, model boat pools, cycling facilities (except cycling lanes), outdoor children's play facilities (including children's tricycle trails) , Outdoor Children's Playground and Traffic Safety City), pebble path, chess table, amphitheatre, public swimming pool, water sports centre, BBQ area, holiday camp and Pui O camp.

Gazette beaches that were scheduled to open in winter continued to suspend lifeguard services, including Deep Water Bay Beach, Clear Water Bay Second Beach, Silverstrand Beach and Golden Beach.

All indoor sports facilities including gymnasiums, squash centres, badminton centres, etc. will also remain closed.

Static recreational facilities in parks under the LCSD (such as large lawns and park seats, etc.) and outdoor jogging tracks in parks will remain open.

Booking applications for amphitheatre and free recreation and sports venues for non-designated activities/sales activities, and applications for schools or groups in Traffic Safety City will continue to be suspended until further notice.

The arrangement of free use of free land-based recreational facilities (i.e. "chicken management") will be suspended from January 20 until further notice.

For the refund arrangement due to venue closure, the hirer can complete the refund application form and submit it together with the original use permit to the counters of the Leisure Services Offices of the LCSD or by post to the relevant leisure venues.

The refund application form can be downloaded from the department's website.

Due to the closure of the fee-charging facilities under the management of the new crown pneumonia epidemic, the number of refund applications received will increase sharply. The LCSD will take measures to process these applications as soon as possible. However, the work will take a long time. Please wait patiently.
