After deportation orders were issued against the community, about 100 demonstrators arrived at the Be'er Sheva District Court: "These are people most of whom were born here" • Tomorrow they are expected to attend a demonstration in front of the Ministry of the Interior in Be'er Sheva

"We are not wanted here just because we are not recognized as part of this people,"

community representative Ashriel Moore said today (Wednesday) during a demonstration in the Be'er Sheva District Court after dozens of Hebrew community members from Dimona received a deportation order from the Population and Immigration Authority last year. .

"We came to the Beersheba District Court today to make a clear and distinct voice that we are here to stay, we are not afraid," Moore told Israel Today.

"We know they want to expel us just because we are Hebrew. We are against deliberate discrimination against the community. These are people who were mostly born here, their parents came to the State of Israel 40-50 years ago because of the belief in the righteousness of their way, the faith in the people of Israel. "But they do not want us here just because they do not recognize us as part of this nation."

Moore noted that they intend to fight the decision: "We will do everything necessary to enable our children to grow up in a new reality that we can finally feel part of the people of Israel."

Moore continued: "I think today is a shame for the State of Israel. We have contributed a lot as a community, we came here to ask for our status to be regulated after 53 years. I would think it is obvious that a community that gives so much of itself in every field To come to court today to beg the decision makers to make the right decision.I am ashamed to say that I am an Israeli who served in the army, I gave my all that I presented the State of Israel abroad.

It's just a shame and a disgrace. "

Meanwhile, hundreds of members of the Jewish community from Dimona are expected to attend a demonstration tomorrow in front of the Ministry of the Interior in Be'er Sheva and the court.

The demonstrators will arrive with suitcases and place them in front of the Ministry of the Interior to illustrate what the deportation looks like.

The hearing that was expected to take place in parallel with the demonstration has been postponed and a new date will be in the coming days.
