Population statistics in Peiting show a clear trend - a record could be set this year

Peiting is growing and getting younger again: Thanks to the renewed migration of 75 people, more births and fewer deaths than in the previous year, the number of inhabitants has risen again to 11,891 people.

That is only seven fewer than the previous high of 11,898 citizens.

Peiting – Between 2003 and 2014, the population of Peiting fell by 460 to 11,438.

Since then it has been steadily increasing again, and perhaps this year or the next we will be able to welcome 12,000 fellow citizens.

It is also particularly pleasing that the average age (46.4 years in 2020) has fallen to 45.4 years now.

The average age for foreign citizens is 37.5 and for dual nationals 24.3 years.

But even among the Germans alone, the average age fell from 47.2 to 46.2 years.

In addition to the 11,891 residents, 429 people are registered with a second home in Peiting.

2761 citizens are 65 years and older, they face 3512 young people up to 30 years.

The largest group among the now 1,061 foreign citizens are the Romanians with 105 women and men.

Followed by the Turks (91), Syrians (89) and Afghans (75).

70 citizens come from Kosovo.

Just behind them are the Poles (64), Austrians and Italians (58 each).

Overall, people with foreign citizenship are spread across 68 countries on all continents.

The oldest Peitinger is 102 years old

The oldest woman in Peiting, Katharina Degle, is a proud 102 years old, another woman celebrated her 101st birthday.

The oldest man in Peiting can look back on 98 years of life.

A total of 83 women and men are 91 years and older.

The strongest group is born in 1964 with 124 women and 118 men.

101 babies saw the light of day in 2021, according to the numbers now published by the residents' registration office.

Five of them were born in the market town itself and can therefore call themselves genuine Peitingers.

95 children were born in 2020.

In 2019 there were 112.

52 couples exchanged vows in front of the registrar.

In 2020 there were 64 marriages (2019: 68).

However, the newlyweds face 33 divorces.

In 2020 there were 34, in 2019 twelve.

The number of deaths in the market town has fallen somewhat to 167 people compared to 178 in 2020. In 2019, 155 people from Peiting were buried.

725 new arrivals faced 650 departures last year.

However, the number of registrations and cancellations has always been high in Peiting, not least due to the Diakoniedorf Herzogsägmühle and the old people's and nursing homes (inflows 2020: 833, 2019: 754).
