Altomünster – The federal police have been dealing with several graffiti crimes in the Munich area in the past few days.
In one case, there was property damage of around 8,000 euros in Altomünster - caused by no "unknowns", as the federal police suspected.
In their press release, the police reported a total of five cases in the Munich area.
Property damage of around 8,000 euros was caused at the Altomünster train station early on Sunday morning. A parked S-Bahn was sprayed between 1 a.m. and 2.30 a.m. over an area of around 160 square meters. Due to the unusually large area, the investigators assume that there were several perpetrators who shared the workload. Various so-called "tags", the sprayers' signature abbreviations, and their appearance allow the assessment that they are not really "unknown", according to the federal police. The Federal Police initiated investigations into property damage against persons unknown.
In Perlach, a 21-year-old was caught red-handed.
The federal police caught one of two perpetrators at the Hackerbrücke, and the accomplice of a sprayer was arrested in Haar when he was a lookout.
At the train station in Maisach (district of Fürstenfeldbruck), an S-Bahn set was sprayed on an area of 35 square meters on Saturday evening.
The four strangers fled when the railway security arrived, but left behind a bag of spray cans.
According to the federal police, these are “not really unknown” – like in Altomünster.
