The Syrian-Mauritanian Brotherhood Committee in the People's Assembly discussed today with the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania in Damascus Ahmadou Eddy Muhammad Al-Razi ways to strengthen and develop parliamentary relations between the two countries.
The head and members of the committee affirmed the depth and strength of the relations that have linked Syria and Mauritania for many years, valuing its supportive stances for Syria and the steadfastness of the Syrian people in the face of the terrorist war that they have been subjected to for more than ten years.
The members of the committee pointed to the need to work to strengthen coordination between the two countries to advance relations and unify their positions in international forums.
For his part, Ambassador Al-Razi affirmed that Syria is the safety valve of the Arab nation and its victory over terrorism is a victory for all the free peoples of the world, expressing the Mauritanian government's full readiness to cooperate with Syria in all fields.
Ambassador Al-Razi referred to the strong relations between the two countries, one of which resulted in the acquisition of thousands of Mauritanian students with scientific expertise from Syrian universities, calling for continuing work to expand areas of cooperation to achieve common interests.
