2022-01-19T19:25:45.229Z

Jabra might be the best-kept secret in the world of wireless earbuds, and they've already beaten Apple and Samsung in some tests.

Jabra might be the best kept secret in the world of wireless hearing aids.

They've proven capable of beating Apple and Samsung in our previous tests, and can often be found cheaper than their main rivals.

The excellent Jabra Elite Active received our recognition as the best choice in wireless earphones for exercise, and even made us put aside our AirPods Pro for a while.

And now that Jabra headsets span the entire price range, from the affordable Elite 3 to the high-end Elite 7 Pro, there's something for everyone.

Choosing the right pair of Jabra hearing aids just got a little more complicated as more products are released.

Fortunately, we've already tested all of Jabra's current hearing aids and are ready to make that decision easy for you.

Whether you want quality sound from cheap headphones or are willing to invest in something built to last from the gym to the office, here are the best Jabra headphones to buy now.

What you need to know about Jabra hearing aids

Before you buy a pair of Jabra hearing aids, there are a few key things to note about the entire range.

The company's hearing aids are fairly platform agnostic: They pair well with iPhone and Android devices via Bluetooth, with the free Sound+ app letting you do things like adjust sound profiles or activate special features.

Some jabra buds, like the Elite 4 Active, have Android-only features (ie: Google Fast Pair and Alexa support), but still work great on all kinds of phones.

Virtually all Jabra hearing aids offer a HearThrough mode, which amplifies the world around you to help you stay aware of your surroundings.

And except for the Elite 3, almost all of Jabra's recent headphones have active noise cancellation, which is very reliable at blocking out unwanted noise when you're working or out for a walk.

Jabra headsets also perform outstandingly well on calls, and all of the models below hold up well during phone chats and work meetings.

Jabra Elite 3: Big sound on a budget

Buy them here:

MX$ 1,999 and

$79.99

Jabra headphones aren't historically the cheapest, but the Elite 3 finally bucks that trend.

And thankfully, they don't cut many features in exchange for this low price.

The Elite 3 offers very good sound quality, an excellent fit with multiple ear tips, and around nine hours of continuous battery life, which is one of the best we've tested on any pair of headphones.

You even get the same HearThrough mode found in Jabra's more expensive hearing aids to amplify the outside world when you need to stay alert – perfect for when you're walking around town or at the airport.

The big downsides here are that the Elite 3's plastic case feels a bit cheap compared to its more premium siblings, and the bass doesn't pop in the same way it does on other rigs.

You also won't get active noise cancellation (ANC), which isn't a feature we'd expect at this price point, but one you'll find on other cheap options like the EarFun Air Pro. But you'd be hard-pressed to find a higher-quality set of headphones at this price point.

Jabra Elite 4 Active: Good for working out with ANC

Buy them here:

 not available and

USD$119.99

If you're willing to spend more, the Jabra Elite 4 Active are a great option for working out, and some of the best overall earphones you can buy at this price. The Elite 4 Active sound great, are IP57-rated to withstand up to a meter of dust and water, and most importantly, they're Jabra's cheapest active noise-canceling headphones.

We found the Elite 4 Active's ANC to be very good for its price, even holding up against more expensive rivals like the Beats Fit Pro. You also get a reliable HearThrough mode and all the sound personalization benefits of Jabra's Sound+ app.

The real drawbacks here are that the Elite 4 Active's controls aren't as responsive as the other models on this list, and the plastic case feels a bit flimsy.

But if you're looking for something more workout-friendly than the Elite 3, and want solid ANC without paying a ton, the Jabra Elite 4 Active is excellent value.

Jabra Elite Active 75t: the best for your money

Buy them here:

 MX$2,999 and

USD$ 99

The Jabra Elite Active 75t are a bit older, but they hold up against the newer competition.

They're currently our top pick for workout headphones, thanks to great sound quality, an incredibly comfortable design, and just about the best set of features you'll find for their often low price.

  • We tested the ZenBook Duo 14: is it worth paying more than $1,000 for this laptop?

The Active 75t's active noise cancellation is some of the best we've tested, even drowning out more sound than the AirPods Pro in many scenarios. The headphones' HearThrough mode is equally stellar, beating Apple's Transparency mode with six levels of ambient noise that gives you control over how loud you want to hear your immediate surroundings. They also offer a strong six-hour battery life and combine a secure fit with an IP57 water-resistance rating, making them ideal for the gym.

It's worth noting that Jabra has a new set of premium training headphones in the Jabra Elite 7 Active, which have a sleeker design and what Jabra calls "ShakeGrip technology" to stay more securely in your ears.

But while the Elite 7 Active felt great to wear in our tests, we didn't notice a significant difference in terms of how well the newer headphones held up in our ears.

If you don't mind the look of Jabra's older earbuds, the Active 75t are arguably the best.

Jabra Elite 7 Pro: high-end sound and good call quality

Buy them here:

MX$4,935 and

USD$ 199

Currently sitting at the top end of Jabra's lineup, the Elite 7 Pro offer the same benefits as the other buds on this list, but are especially great for calls.

These headphones feature "MultiSensor Voice" technology, which uses four microphones and a custom sensor to eliminate unwanted background noise (such as wind) while aiming to pick up your voice as clearly as possible.

This translates well to everyday use, as the 7 Pros were among the most reliable headphones we've used over weeks of calls.

And during voice recording tests, they did a better job of separating our voice from background noise compared to Jabra's cheaper earbuds, even if they weren't as clear as our top pick for calls on the Galaxy Buds Pro.

  • This iPhone 13 case is the best on the market and these are the reasons

Equally impressive, the Elite 7 Pro have some of the most adjustable active noise cancellation and HearThrough of any Jabra headset, with five levels of each that you can toggle based on how much noise you want to block out or let in.

They're also some of Jabra's longest-lasting buds with a rated runtime of 8 hours of uninterrupted listening that matches what we've seen in daily use.

The Elite 7 Pro are on the expensive side at $199, but they hold up well against rivals like the AirPods Pro in sound quality and features.

And if you spend most of the day on calls, it's worth the expense.
