The committee investigating the assault on Capitol Hill on Jan. 6, 2021, issued a subpoena Tuesday for four attorneys for former President Donald Trump who were involved in the legal battle to invalidate the results of the 2020 presidential election.
The committee claimed that Rudy Giuliani, Jenna Ellis, Sidney Powell and Boris Epshteyn "publicly promoted baseless allegations about the 2020 election
and attempted to subvert or delay the certification of election results."
"The four individuals who were subpoenaed to appear today spread unfounded theories of voter fraud, worked to subvert the election results, or were in direct contact with the former president regarding efforts to prevent the vote count from taking place. Electoral College votes," committee chairman Bennie Thompson, D-Mississippi, said in a statement.
