The Kochel fire brigade had to extinguish a burning tractor on the Kesselberg on Wednesday afternoon.
Kochel am See – Not a motorcycle, but a tractor caused a stir on the federal highway 11 on the Kesselberg on Wednesday afternoon.
Its driver was driving from Kochel towards Walchensee around 12 p.m. when he suddenly noticed smoke on the vehicle.
He was with his vehicle just before the parking lot in the so-called viewing curve, reports the Kochler fire brigade commander Hubert Resenberger when asked by the Tölzer Kurier.
Then everything went very fast.
The tractor was already ablaze when the fire brigade with 15 helpers in two vehicles was on site a short time later.
A trailer could be unhooked beforehand.
"The tractor was extinguished relatively quickly using water and foam," reports Resenberger.
The B11 was completely closed on both sides during the extinguishing work, but there was only little traffic.
The rescue service, the Kochel police and employees of the road maintenance department were also on site.
Nobody got hurt.
It is still unclear how the fire could have happened.
