Two American companies suspended the operation of the fifth generation technology near several airports in the United States to avoid any disruptions to flights.
Reuters reported that AT&T and Verizon agreed to postpone the operation of some wireless communication towers near major airports to avoid any disruption to American flights, as part of the deployment of the fifth generation technology that will provide tens of millions of people with faster Internet services.
Verizon has confirmed that it will not temporarily operate about 500 communications towers near airports, which is less than ten percent of the planned operation, while airlines and the US administration are working to find a permanent solution in this regard.
Yesterday, the heads of major American airlines warned of catastrophic disruptions in the transportation and shipping sectors in the event that the fifth generation networks “G5” for the Internet were operated without setting controls for transmitting stations located near airports.
