A Kiev court on Wednesday (January 19th) decided on the release of former Ukrainian president and opponent Petro Poroshenko, accused of high treason, Ukrainian media reported.

The decision was announced by Judge Oleksiï Sokolov.
Reacting to this announcement, Petro Poroshenko, a billionaire, and his relatives sang the national anthem in the courtroom.
The prosecution had demanded his imprisonment, except payment of a deposit of around 30 million euros.
