A woman from Darmstadt wants to bring her children to daycare by bike.

She has a guardian angel to thank for the fact that no serious accidents happen.

Now the police are investigating.

Darmstadt – That could have ended badly: the brakes on a woman's bike from Darmstadt suddenly stopped working.

Luckily she caught it in time before something worse happened.

The police have started investigations.

The 33-year-old was on the way to kindergarten with her children on Wednesday morning (01/19/2022) when she noticed the ineffective brakes on her cargo bike shortly after starting her journey.

After a quick check, she found that all three brake line cables had been severed.

The bike stood overnight on Sandstrasse near Georg-Büchner-Platz in Darmstadt.

There it was chained to a tree.

The police have now started investigations into the dangerous intervention in road traffic and property damage.

Nothing is known about the background so far.

For further information, the police are looking for witnesses who have observed something suspicious.

The Darmstadt police will take tips on 06151/969-41210.

In an accident in Darmstadt, a child on a bicycle* was hit by a car.

The police also launched an appeal for witnesses.
