The technical workshops of the General Electricity Company in Lattakia are following up on repairing faults in the electrical network due to the storm and the prevailing weather conditions in the governorate.

The Director of Latakia Electricity, Engineer Jaber Al-Asi, said in a statement to SANA reporter that the storm’s damage included the fall of a medium tension network on the line of the village of Nuquro and a medium tension network on the Juba water line, the fall and breakage of seven low voltage columns and other light faults, all in Qardaha countryside, where work is underway to repair and restore them to service. .

Engineer Ahmed Qanadeel, head of the Jableh City Council, stated that since the arrival of the rainy depression, the city council’s workshops continue their work in the streets and neighborhoods to treat any suffocation or flooding as a result of closing the rain nozzles, wiping them and cleaning them at the required speed.

Qandil indicated that the council's garden workers and workshops are also working to remove garbage and fallen tree branches and leaves as a result of strong winds, indicating that there is no material damage until the moment and that work continues until the storm ends.

In a related context, Qandil pointed out that some weak-minded people took advantage of the prevailing bad weather and stole four batteries for solar-powered lighting poles at the Fish Square in the city of Jableh, where the necessary control was organized while the competent authorities are working to search for the perpetrators of the theft to be held accountable in accordance with the laws .
