In the event of a corona quarantine, millions of vaccinated people in Germany are threatened with the loss of continued wages.
This is the result of a recent legal opinion.
Berlin – So far, vaccinated people have been able to rely on the fact that the state will continue to pay their wages in the event of a quarantine due to Corona – even if they cannot go to work.
However, according to a report by
Bild
on Thursday, that could soon change.
The newspaper apparently has an opinion from the Bundestag lawyers, according to which employees who have not received a booster vaccination are not entitled to continued payment of wages.
Corona quarantine without continued wages has so far only applied to unvaccinated people
So far, the continued payment of wages has only been omitted for completely unvaccinated employees.
Vaccinated were on the safe side.
But the report now says: Anyone who rejects the government-recommended Covid 19 booster vaccination is knowingly risking the risk of a corona infection.
The claim to the state-granted compensation in the event of loss of wages could thus be omitted.
After all, the loss of work could have been prevented with a third vaccination.
So far, the federal government has no concrete plans to stop paying wages for vaccinated people, writes the

But a new regulation is “considered possible” in government circles.
No continued payment of wages?
Corona infected not affected
However, anyone who falls ill with Corona and is therefore unable to work is not affected by the regulations: Even those who have not been vaccinated will continue to receive their wages in the event of a Covid 19 infection.
The omission of continued wage payments only applies to corona quarantine without your own illness.
The corona numbers are currently increasing massively because of the Omicron variant: On Thursday there were more than 100,000 newly infected people within one day for the first time - and Health Minister Lauterbach assumes that this is just the beginning.
SPD member of the Bundestag Marc Biadacz has criticized the possible loss of continued wages for vaccinated people.
On Twitter he fears a "night and fog decision in the Ministry of Health." The federal government must quickly provide clarity.
People without a corona booster vaccination* face not only this, but also other adversities: The digital vaccination certificate from the EU now expires even faster for those who have only been vaccinated once or twice, travel then becomes a problem.
