Irschenberg – On Thursday, January 20, the federal police in Rosenheim arrested a 43-year-old man from Kosovo on the A 8 at Irschenberg, who is suspected of having stolen several bicycles.
According to officials, they checked the man's car, registered in France, in the early hours of the morning as he drove towards Austria.
They noticed three branded bicycles inside the car.
The driver was able to identify himself properly.
However, he was unable to provide proof of ownership for the three high-quality bicycles.
Even when asked where the bikes came from, the 43-year-old had no plausible explanation ready.
So the officers checked the serial numbers of the bikes.
The result: one of the brand bikes had been reported stolen in France just three days earlier.
The police arrested the man on suspicion of theft.
Whether the other two bicycles are also stolen goods is currently the subject of further investigations.
These were taken over by the Bavarian state police because of their jurisdiction.
