TheWärmelsperger family lives with an unusual roommate.
A fawn moved in with the family last year.
All attempts to bring it back failed.
Wagmühle - In many houses, guests are greeted by dogs that come to the door curiously.
With the Hitzelsperger family, however, the four-legged family member is a little more unusual.
Whoever rings their bell in Wagmühle in the district of Ebersberg is greeted by a young deer with a shy look.
Visitors seem to be exciting for the animal, which actually lives wild in the forest.
Because it immediately takes a step back, even dropping a few droppings out of sheer excitement.
"That's completely normal," explains KatjaWärmelsperger, the daughter of the house.
The 45-year-old, who is also trained as a hunter, grew up here on the farm next to the former wagon mill with six brothers.
The farm is located between Forstinning and Markt Schwaben.
Wagmühle: The fawn followed the family instead of fleeing
The fawn ran after her - and now lives with the family. "On Mother's Day last year, I went to one of our meadows with my 13-year-old daughter Maria and our German Wirehaired Pointer Distel," she says. "As always, before mowing, we wanted to see if a fawn had ducked into the grass and hidden there." The hound quickly tracked down the deer. KatjaWärmelsperger wrapped it in tufts of grass so that the fawn would not take on a human scent and then be rejected by its mother. "We carefully carried it to the neighboring meadow and set it down there," she reports. But the deer obviously had other plans. It followed the family back to the meadow. Heat lsperger brought it away again. When the third attempt also failed, the 45-year-old took pity on her. After all, many years ago she had raised a fawn. And she couldn't resist her daughter's pleading look. "It would have been normal if the fawn had pressed further into the grass or had fled," she says.
Sometimes Hansi is gone for two days.
Then he suddenly stands in front of the door again and wants his snack.

Since then, the deer has lived with theWärmelspergers.
They named it "Hansi".
Dog Distel and the deer have long since become close friends.
They snuggle up together on a comfortable bed in the hallway.
And they have a common hobby: they follow KatjaWärmelsperger everywhere, only she cannot take the two unequal animal comrades with her to her job on a poultry farm near Forstern.
Reh Hansi gets his own special feed
At the very beginning of this unusual community, she raised the tiny fawn with sheep's milk from a cat's drinking bottle.
"Deer don't tolerate the slightly lower-fat cow's milk, they get diarrhea," she explains.
Now, when he gets his daily ration of special feed, Hansi is happy to buy a dry mixture of corn, oats, Lucerna and apple pomace, all as deer feed in the pet trade.
"He also likes to eat silo corn and horse treats and doesn't spurn a cucumber or a banana," says the animal mom.

Nevertheless, KatjaWärmelsperger realizes every day that she lives under the same roof as a wild animal.
“Towards evening Hansi stands in front of the front door and wants to go outside.
He then stays away all night, sometimes two days,” she says.
"And then he suddenly appears in front of our door again and wants his special snack." And of course he gets it.
After all, theWärmelspergers have long since grown fond of their unusual roommate.
